Practical skills, a certificate, and a career path. Our beauty programme runs every week day in Mwihoko and is open to anyone ready to start.
Skills that open doors
Our beauty course is designed for women aged 18–35 who have left school and are looking for a route into employment. We particularly welcome those living with epilepsy and carers of people with epilepsy, the course is completely free for them.
Over six months you'll cover:
- Manicure & pedicure
- Massage - Hair plaiting & braiding
- Hair cutting
- Weaves
You don't have to commit to the full course upfront. You can join at any point and take whichever sections work for you, making it one of the most flexible vocational programmes in Mwihoko.
300 women trained. Most now working in beauty.
Since we started the programme, over 300 women have completed training with us. Around 250 are now working in the beauty industry, running their own businesses or employed in salons across Nairobi.
Every graduate receives a certificate on completion, giving them a formal qualification to show employers.
